• "Beneath the lower sandy and marly oolitic limestones lies a group of blotchy green yellow and brownish clays and thin limestones. The lithology recalls some of the clays of the Upper Estuarine Series of Northamptonshire and the impression of an estuarine environment is strengthened by certain faunal resemblances to the Sharp's Hill Beds, with which these beds are tentatively correlated."
